Electric Car Manufacturers

On this page I will try to show you some of the electric car manufacturers and of course their cars. These cars are pure electric, meaning you plug in your car every night and then have a limited radius. Fortunately they are getting better as we speak. Ranges of 150 Miles are possible. There are of course also other options, hybrid cars and plug in hybrid cars (PHEV).

In 2008 most of the vehicles below will start production and sales. 2010 is expected to be the turning point in electric vehicles. Not only will there be better batteries which will be able to be charged in just minutes. The range of the vehicles will comparable with normal internal combustion engine cars.

The cars that are being produced now are focussed on the extremes of the concept. Meaning that there are cars that need to attract the rich and cars that are build to get the most range etc.  Of course, in lets say 10  years, the model line up of electric cars will be as normal cars. Having fast sport cars, large pick up trucks, family SUV, small city cars and such. Also with a range of engines and batteries, allowing people to chose their car that best suites their life style. 

Currently there are a few manufacturers that produce and sell full electric vehicles. Below is a list of electric cars and brands that are out there.

Tesla Motors
Tesla Motors designs and sells high-performance, highly efficient electric sports cars — with no compromises. Tesla Motors cars combine style, acceleration, and handling with advanced technologies.

The Tango by Commuter Cars
An ultra-narrow, freeway-capable, stable, safe vehicle that fits anywhere a motorcycle fits.

Lighting GT by the Lightning Car company
The Lighting GT is a high power Britisch electric car that looks like a Jaguar in combination with a TVR.

Phoenix motorcars SUT
A sports utitly truck all electric car that seats 5 adults and has a large cargo area.

Think Electric Cars
A small city car that has a 110 miles range and a top speed of 60 mph. Not my favorite look.

Zap-X Crossover Electric Car by ZAP
The ZAP-X Crossover is a SUV like car which seat 5+2 and has a very futuristic look
